One antique frame (holding a mirror) had some wood gouged out of it. The technician filled in the spot with putty and colored it to match. One antique frame (also holding a mirror) had two or three inches of the finish flaking off. This was also filled in and colored to match the rest of the frame. What was additionally useful was that the technician was able to give me advice on whether it was worthwhile to restore a laquered Korean chest (no) and the brass mount on a Lalique 1930’s vase (no). He was also to identify the finish on two sconces. In other words, I had the advantage of a great deal of expertise on this visit. I intend to use them again.
